A fast-growing resort company and increasingly important Transat partner, Mexico’s Excellence Group is on the move.
Last week saw some of the hotelier’s ambassadors move north to Toronto for Transat-hosted evening and breakfast events that attracted a big crowd of sun-selling agents.
Now with three brands – Excellence, Finest and Beloved -- and six properties in its portfolio, Excellence Group has quickly developed a strong following among Canadian agents and their clients.
Last September marked the opening of the adults-only Excellence El Carmen in Punta Cana, the second Excellence property in the D.R. and one of four in total, the others in Mexico.
The first property under the all-ages ‘Finest’ brand, Finest Playa Mujeres, opened in 2015 and has been a big seller for Canadian agents since.
The third brand is Beloved, which currently offers a single boutique-style luxury all-inclusive property known as Beloved Playa Mujeres. It became an adults-only property last September, and future Beloved properties will take the same approach.
Excellence Business Development Executive Ana Laura Alvarez and Transat Commercial Director Nicole Bursey spoke to agents at the evening event, highlighting on the Excellence portfolio’s broad appeal for weddings, families, adults and groups of friends.
Bursey pointed out that Excellence El Carmen, Excellence Playa Mujeres, Finest Playa Mujeres and Excellence Riviera Cancun are all part of Transat’s Luxury Collection, which comes with package perks including free VIP Lounge Access, free Option Plus upgrade, private resort transfers and many hotel extras.
Bursey told Open Jaw that her favourite Excellence memories include “chocolate fondue and an awesome hydrotherapy treatment in the spa.” Presumably not at the same time.
