The lounge buffet

It was always a lovely respite from the hustle bustle of the international departures pier at YYZ’s Terminal 3 but it was definitely due for a re-do. Air France and KLM’s newly renovated Business Class lounge has been totally refreshed. The project took 10 months in all to completely gut and recreate its new layout and look.

Last week the AF/KL team in Canada welcomed a group of their special clients and industry colleagues to check out the new lounge and share a toast to its official opening.

The makeover was under the direction of designer Johnson Chou who along with creating elegant spaces within the lounge added some whimsy evoking his memories of playing with model airplanes swooshing off the runway and banking into their flight path...

Station Manager Christina Wendland and Deputy Station Manager Vesna Pirovic were responsible for the project and deservedly proud of the results – and glad the project is over and their team can now welcome their Business Class and SkyTeam partner guests to relax and enjoy the lounge. It is now open from 8 a.m. to midnight daily and also available for any international Terminal 3 pax for a $40 fee.

The calming modern space provides areas for work, rest, relaxing and dining. It is very large - 575 sq. m. - but broken up into a variety of sections while maintaining an elegant and open feeling. Its hot and cold buffet is well stocked with a variety of snacks, soups, nibbles, wine, beer and spirits and the space of course provides complimentary Wi-Fi.
