Excuse me, dahrlings, but...

Sunshine, Lollipops & Transat
Open Jaw

People often describe me using ‘C’ words, Pumpkins. Years
ago they were adjectives like comely, curvaceous and concupiscent, while today
they tend to veer towards crusty, cranky and curmudgeonly.

But I do have a soft side, dahrlings, and it’s not just my
drooping hindquarters. I have a weakness for those who brighten the lives of
those around them, though I’m rarely accused of being one of them.

So I’m smitten by Transat’s new ‘Ray
of Sunshine’
contest. Everyone is being invited to submit the name of
someone who stands out for their smile, generosity and daily good deeds. 36
do-gooders will walk away with free trips, and the suck-ups (oops, there I go)
who nominate them will get a gift certificate for future travel.

It sounds to me like Justin’s ‘sunny ways’ are insinuating
themselves into the Canadian consciousness, but after 8 years of that other ‘C’
word, I’m OK with it. Let the sun shine in… And, even if you really, really,
really want to choose Me as your ray of sunshine... I'd be honoured. On the other hand, save it for a more deserving soul. I
read the fine print.

Ivanna Gabbalot

Columnist

Part legend, part myth, all woman: Ivanna Gabbalot is OJ’s gossip columnist and considers herself the industry’s conscience. Equally annoying to Open Jaw management and inflated egos in C-suites everywhere, Ivanna works infrequently, preferring to snipe from the sidelines.
