PAL Celebrates Anniversary With New YVR-NYC Route
with B.A.

“Nothing
makes us happier than making you feel at home" is one of the taglines offered
by Philippine Airlines. And, at a recent shindig held at the Four Seasons Hotel
Vancouver, PR representative took the opportunity to extend their hospitality
to members of the local travel trade. Some of PAL's Manila-based executives
flew in for the event and also in town to introduce herself was Purification
Molintas, Tourism Attaché & Director, Philippines Department of Tourism who
took on this position in January. Based in SFO, Canada is part of Molintas's
portfolio.

Back to the airline's news. On March 15th,
PAL will commemorate its 74
th anniversary by launching service to
JFK via YVR. This marks the carrier's much-awaited network expansion to the
U.S. east coast.

Using an A340-300 aircraft, it offers 36
seats in Business Class and 218 in Economy. PAL will have full traffic rights
between Vancouver and New York.

Also
starting on March 15
th, PAL will increase its current daily service
between MNL and YVR to 11 flights weekly with 3 departure times from Manila –
mid-afternoon, early evening and late evening. The MNL-YYZ sector will add a 4
th
weekly flight on Wednesdays.

2015
is 'Visit the Philippines Year' and the DoT promises to double the excitement
and fun for festivals, food, history and adventure. For more information, check
out visitph2015.com. Heralding the merits of travelling to the Philippines,
Molintas talked about the various appealing product mixes on offer including
Culture/History, Nature/Adventure and Health/Wellness. She also said that a
bottle of beer in the Philippines costs a mere .85¢, a point not lost on
attendees.

And
the evening wasn't over yet. Filipino pop sensation, Erik Santos, entertained
the crowd with his smooth vocals. With a last minute entry visa in hand – he
literally received it in the afternoon – Santos, hopped onto the PR flight
bound for YVR at 7 p.m. PAL's Country Manager for Canada, Allan Coo took the
opportunity to tell guests that this flight leaves pax the entire day free to
do anything they want. “Let the Filipinos take you to the Philippines," added
Coo.
