Emerging markets in Latin America are beckoning and Air Canada is responding with the launch of new non-stop service to both Rio de Janeiro and Panama City this December.

To celebrate their route expansion, the Air Canada team invited top agent partners to join them at the cool Story’s Building cocktail bar in Toronto’s entertainment district to help get their Latin American vibe on.

Duncan Bureau, Vice President Global Sales and Virgilio Russi, Senior Director, Canada Sales welcomed their special guests amid samba drumming and a carnival dancing mini-parade.

Guests schmoozed with their competitors and Air Canada reps with several commenting on how much they appreciate the relationship with AC. Air Canada’s new vibe has been resonating for a while now... having turned a corner a few years back when they took a different approach to the agency distribution channel and once again began to welcome agents as their valuable partners.

The culture change was certainly evident at the relaxed, noisy and fun launch party.

New year round YYZ-GIG and YYZ-PTY routes will go into service 11DEC and 17DEC respectively with 3 times weekly service to each new destination. Bureau exhorted his guests to fully support the new routes and help ramp them up to daily service before long.

Trish McTavish of McTavish Travel and Normal Lee of Jade Tours will have a chance to experience the new routes as the respective winners of tickets to PTY and GIG.
