Excuse me, dahrlings, but...

Smoked, Cracked & Plated

I tell you, Pumpkins, Rob Ford is a hot tourism ticket. He is too sexy for his town. Too sexy for this town. As sexy as a clown. Apparently international visitors to the big smoke have hit an all-time high. Must be all the crack at city hall.

Not to be outdone, dahrlings, Montreal is looking to increase its own international tourism profile. Those crazy Québecois are legalizing eating beaver in certain restaurants. (Apparently they’re getting Rob’s home cooked recipe.)

Wild rabbit and squirrel will also be on these ‘pioneer’ menus, and I can’t help but wonder, dahrlings, if that’s appropriate. I’m nothing if not culinarily experimental, but would you really want to be tucking into some cuisses de lapin while the table next to you is diving into a beaver’s thighs? Must be a ‘Coureur des woods’ kind of thing.

And speaking of experimenting, Mary Heron did that with retirement. Bah. It’s for sissies and non-travel people. She’s back in the game at Aer Lingus. (notice I don’t mention the name of the airline until well after the plated beaver story). Welcome back, Mary. And Dina Bertolo. And Doreen Lynch. Resistance is futile.
