Tim Morgan

Where were you born? In Winnipeg. I love it here.

How long have you been in the business? Since 2005.

How many people work for you? TPI has 45 staff and 850 advisors.

What’s the best part of the job? The people, absolutely.

What did you want to be as a kid? An architect.

What was your 1st job? I sang in the church choir and earned a loonie each Sunday.

What’s your favourite airline? Air Canada, because I’m very patriotic and I grew up travelling with my parents, huge AC supporters. Love the service levels and product. I could go on and on!

What’s on your iPad? I don’t own an iPad, but I’m always listening to music on my devices, everything from classical to R&B.

Any hobbies or interests? Cooking and eating!

What skill or talent do you admire in someone? Ability to time manage. And manage people.

Is there anything you won’t eat? Turnip.

What’s your favourite place for a business lunch? A patio, anywhere.

What keeps you awake at night? Opportunities and ideas. I’m always thinking of the next thing.

How do you spend your frequent flyer points? I’ve been collecting Aeroplan miles for almost 20 years and haven’t spent any yet! I’m saving for international travel.

What was your proudest moment? When I became V.P. of TPI, it was a very proud moment for me and for my parents too.

What is your greatest extravagance? Travelling, eating and drinking. The only thing I collect is passport stamps.

How do you stay fit when you travel? I should do more of that (laughs). I try to eat well and walk whenever I can.

If you could change one thing about the industry what would it be? The perception that travel advisors are a dying breed.

If you could sit next to anyone on a long-haul flight, who would it be? My partner, Garth.

Do you have a favourite charity? Breakfast Clubs of Canada.

What will be the biggest challenge for the industry in the next 12 months? The unknown… That always frightens me a little bit.

What do you hope to be doing in 10 years? I would love to be working for TPI and doing what I’m doing now…perhaps from the Virgin Galactic!
