Excuse me, dahrlings, but...

Blah Blah Blah

Oy. Charlie Brown's school teacher’s tromboning blah blah blah voice has taken over travel, Pumpkins.

Some of the gobblegook being hatched as business plots seems carefully designed to put us to sleep, dahrlings. Beware. Case in point – Harriet Green today revealed the long awaited “turnaround strategy” for TCook with these words:

“Green said this [plan] would be based on four cornerstone principles; delighting customers with trusted, personalised holiday experiences through a high tech, high touch approach. Stabilizing the business has been our priority through addressing our cost and cash challenges, and strengthening the leadership team to create a more effective, aligned organisation focused on rigorous execution."

Um … I have absolutely no idea what any of that means. Is Sunquest in or out?

On the other foot, TUI’s Lundgren is re-writing the basic business curriculum by announcing that the way to make money is to not give customers what they want. “A lot of companies give the customer what they want and they go bust.”

I think the smoke from the Vatican is causing brain cramps in Europe.

Over on this side of the pond, VIA is doing its best to lull us into an absolute stupor. They are launching on-board entertainment featuring CBC and NFB Canadian programming. That’s all we need – eternal reruns of “Jack” en route to Belleville.
