Air Canada Vacations has announced new self-service tools designed to make it easier for travel agents to assist their customers.
For the first time, travel agents can access reservations made online and in the call center for bookings in Mexico, the Caribbean, Las Vegas, Hawaii, California and Orlando. In addition, future travel credits can be applied as payment for all bookings made online for these destinations.
The new changes also include the ability to add a customer’s Aeroplan number to an existing reservation, as well as make special requests for traveller accommodations.
These extra tools, as well as those launched in late 2021, can be accessed through Air Canada Vacations’ web site and all external distribution channels, including Sirev, Galileo Vacations, and Sabre Vacations. In addition, customers will now have the ability to access their reservations directly online and manager certain elements of their booking trough the "Manage Your Booking" page on Air Canada Vacations' web site.
Air Canada Vacations is also hosting a trade webinar to help travel agents get comfortable with its new tools, which can be registered for online. Participants will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a CAD $250 Future Travel Credit.
“We know the workload that comes with managing a reservation right now, so we’re looking for ways to help alleviate some of that pressure off our trade partners. To mitigate the volume of requests agencies are getting after hours, we’re making reservations more accessible to travellers,” said Nino Montagnese, Vice President, Air Canada Vacations. “We’re always trying to do better for our industry, and all these new capabilities come from the feedback that the trade has given us.”
