The cobblestone streets of YTO’s Distillery District were unusually quiet considering this weekend’s upcoming Christmas market. The sounds of Christmas carols filled the empty alleyways and the first flakes of snow started to fall. Outside, it was a peaceful holiday scene. Inside the Boiler House Restaurant it was everything but. Meliá Hotels International Cuba invited 100 guests to their appreciation event and the affair was lively and spirited – a true party.

Attendees included travel agents, tour operator partners and other members of the trade that have supported or worked with Meliá Cuba in the past. It seemed more like an industry reunion as people kissed and hugged their way through the crowd. A live band entertained as guests enjoyed an open bar and a Cuban inspired buffet.

Brenda Bradley, Sales Executive for Meliá Hotels International Cuba, took the opportunity to thank all guests and to share some of Meliá Cuba’s upcoming developments.

As of this month, the Tryp Peninsula Varadero resort was rebranded and is now known as the Hotel Meliá Peninsula Varadero with more restaurant options and updated rooms.

In May 2013 the Paradisus Princesa del Mar Resort & Spa will debut 168 royal service rooms in a new section by the beach. And also opening this spring is the Meliá Marina Varadero which will offer apartment style accommodations, a marina, shops and a convention centre. According to Bradley, the entire Marina property will be completed by 2015.

The weather outside will soon be frightful, so a Meliá Christmas may be a good option for some of your clients.
