Royal Caribbean Introduces 'Buy Now, Pay Later' Option FlexPay

Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas
Harmony of the Seas

Royal Caribbean's booking system, Espresso, officially launched FlexPay, a new payment program for travel partners that offers their clients flexibility and ease on how and when payments are made towards their cruise vacation.

Travel partners can now pre-schedule up to 10 automatic payments that can be arranged by date, amount and can even accept more than one credit card. FlexPay is now immediately available on the Espresso booking system.

Created with the travel partner community in mind, FlexPay is the latest automation tool implemented into Royal Caribbean’s Espresso system, according to the company. Over the last several months, Royal Caribbean has developed and launched various automation enhancements that provide travel partners with the tools designed to maximize their time with clients and make these interactions more meaningful and personalized.

In addition to FlexPay, some of these enhancements include:

  • FCC automation solutions
    • FCC Redemption Tool: Allows travel partners to redeem FCCs in three steps and check on the status of an FCC
    • Insight: Through Insight, travel advisors can send personalized FCC reminder emails to clients
  • Latte: A personal assistant for travel advisors. Latte was enhanced to redeem FCCs and allow for multiple FCCs to be applied at once.
  • eQuote: A personalized marketing sidekick that helps create tailored quotes and generates leads
  • Vaccine Testing & Requirements Tool: Launched in JAN 2022 to help travel advisors access and share directly with clients the current protocols for the guest’s sailing date and itinerary. Their clients receive a designed, customized email that includes the travel partner name and contact info.
  • Cruise Planner: Introduced in MAR 2022, travel partners can explore the available offerings (i.e., shore excursions, dining options, beverage/dining packages, etc.) based on ship and sail date
