The post-pandemic travel industry is in need of "trust, assurance, and expert advice," with travel advisors waiting to guide clients to their desired vacations.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, travellers have seen a rise in barriers for travel, from ever-changing travel testing and vaccine requirements per destination, recent swaths of flight cancellations around the world, border closures, changes to insurance policies, and many more.

That's where travel advisors, who have been monitoring such factors since the pandemic began, can really shine, according to the report.

"Being fluent in the intricate rules and regulations of individual countries, airlines, and suppliers has gifted agents with a whole new relevance, helping travellers navigate the new normal procedures, providing insurance, and shaping their expectations.

"The responsibility falls on agents to put the fun and simplicity back into international travel."

Due to a perceived uncertainty around international travel, the report says consumers may also be seeking a sense of security which advisors can provide. Potential clients may consider benefits such as receiving clarity on travel rule changes, increased protection if their trip is cancelled, and quality costumer service.

It says "revenge travel" is still at play in travel planning and bookings. Following two years at home, consumers have an "all or nothing mentality," and that pent up demand is translating into longer, more extravagant, and costlier trips, an opportunity savvy travel advisors can still tap into.
