Lending your best players to the opposing team, only to be stumped by them seems downright wrong.

But then, the folks at Goway are good sports that way. They don’t mind a few dead balls for the sake of a healthy relationship with Air New Zealand. (You know how those Kiwis can be…) And on a warm September afternoon, yours truly thoroughly enjoyed learning about sticky wickets and bump balls over a tall frothy one.

The Goway vs NZ yearly cricket match is becoming a Toronto tradition not to be missed. The Goway staff are warm and generous hosts, and let’s face it, during the few warm months we have, who wants to sit in one more air conditioned hotel meeting room. It’s a great outdoor mix and mingle.

The message? After more than 40 years, Goway is still independent, and still growing. The purveyor of exotic travels near and far has offices in Canada, the U.S., South America… and soon to come… Asia. Business is steady, and although the South Pacific was a bit of a struggle this year, bookings to South America are more than picking up the slack.

From observing all the running and batting on the green, I could tell that I would be a clean-bowler, no question. In fact, I’d probably be spic & span. The ball would never so much as get dust on my bat. Guaranteed.
