Transat’s long haul touring brand is geared up for their 2nd season of small coach touring packages to Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe and recently celebrated with a luncheon for special agent partners in Brassaii’s fabulous private dining room on Toronto's King Street West.

As Transat Discoveries’ Sales Director for Ontario, Dan Prior, explained to his top customers, the brand evolved from Transat’s Revatours which had been dedicated to the Quebec market and offers destinations and countries that the mainstream brand Transat Holidays does not.

Dan and Ontario Sales Representative, Sherry Brown, have spent the past year working on training events and identifying the long haul specialist agents and agencies that are best able to support the new brand in Ontario. They are supported by a team of dedicated reservations specialists in the YUL res centre who are able to help agents with Transat Discoveries 25+ coach tour packages that include either TS flights or sched air, most excursions and meals.

Most tours accept a maximum of 25 persons and Transat Discoveries is also eager to help customize small groups based on their destination expertise and partners. Many of the brochure’s departures are guaranteed and 2/3 of the tours are exclusive to Transat Discoveries.

Surprisingly, the top selling tour in their 1st year of operation was Morocco followed by Peru, Kenya/Tanzania & South Africa. They have added new tours in Turkey (utilizing the TS service) as well as Brazil, Iceland and a variety of African countries. The Vietnamese and Thailand product has been redesigned this year to suit the 2 week vacation period that is most popular with Canadian clients.

Besides all the training and support, Transat Discoveries has also trotted out a whole series of incentives to encourage early booking, preferred methods of payment and for those ever so valuable repeat travellers.
