Anu Vittal, General Manager, USA & Canada for Vasco Travel chats with Adie Matus-Schlossberg of New Wave Travel
Vikas Abbott, Managing Director of the 3rd generation family owned Indian DMO, Vasco Travel, brought a taste of New Delhi hospitality to Toronto recently. Together with Anu Vittal, Vasco’s General Manager for Canada, the veteran Indian businessman took the opportunity to host a group of top agents and operators to a relaxed evening reception at Queen West’s 5th Element.
Vasco specializes in creating unique experiences in India, Nepal, Tibet, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and the Maldives for their travel agent and tour operator partners. They also managed to create a unique dining experience for their Toronto guests. The 5th Element specializes in Indian fusion cuisine - beautifully prepared and presented on small bamboo shells and hors d’oeuvres plates. The flavours were as finely tuned as the elegant presentation.
Offering a handpicked selection of boutique accommodations, specialized tours and luxurious experiences for their Canadian partners, Vasco Travel was recently honoured with India’s National Tourism Award for Best Inbound Tour Operator for the 4th time. The award was presented to Vasco Travel Chairman, and Vikas’ father, Chander Abbott by the President of India’s Tourism Association.
Vasco Travel is also involved in giving back to its home country and has long been associated with SOS Children’s Villages, a non-profit organization helping orphaned children and disadvantaged families throughout India.
