ALL GROW’D UP

Canada Jetlines Gets CTA Approval for Domestic, Int’l Service - and Secures More Funding

Canada Jetlines has officially received all airline licenses from the CTA to operate domestic, non-scheduled international and scheduled international air services.

“We are now an official airline in Canada,” an elated Duncan Bureau, Canada Jetlines’ Chief Commercial Officer told Open Jaw. “There are no more certifications needed.”

In an 22AUG press release, Bureau stated that Canada Jetlines’ fall schedule would be announced “shortly. ”

“Canada Jetlines is fully staffed and ready to fly. As a start-up during the pandemic, we emphasize preparation and collaboration and are currently staffed to welcome guests to travel with us,” said Eddy Doyle, CEO of Canada Jetlines.

“Part of the many benefits of beginning as a startup airline out of the pandemic is our staffing. We don't have to worry about bringing back team members, retraining, and so on. We are fully trained, with the full complement of crew and team members.”

New Funding

The airline also announced it has entered into a new, 24-month, $1 million unsecured loan from Roosheila Group Inc., a holding company run by travel industry veteran Reg Christian.

Canada Jetlines says it intends to use the new funds for general corporate and working capital purposes.

Clear Direction

Once launched, the new airline plans to use its growing fleet of Airbus 320 aircraft to provide Canadians with “value vacation choices and convenient travel options” within Canada, the U.S.A., Cuba, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Antigua, Bahamas, and other Caribbean nations.

In addition, the company plans to sell packaged vacations through its tour operator business “to iconic Canadian destinations and beyond.”
