Ponant Announces New Sailings for 2023

Le Champlain

Ponant has released a new lineup of itineraries for 2023 including their first expedition to the tropical islands of Southern Japan, as reported by Recommend.

Itineraries include nine major regions: Oceania, Antarctica, Africa and the Middle East, Asia, South America, Central America, Europe, the Arctic and the Mediterranean.

Australia/New Zealand

'Ancient Fjords and Unspoiled Islands of Southern New Zealand' is an 11-day expedition from 11-22JAN that takes in Ulva Island and subantarctic islands. Other itineraries in the area include New Zealand’s North Island and Chatam Islands in NOV and DEC and a Tropical Odyssey Between North East Australia and Indonesia in FEB. Papua New Guinea is brand new for FEB, which includes outrigger canoe rides to the Fiords of Cape Nelson.

Antarctica

Ponant also has four new Antarctica itineraries on Le Commandant Charcot, including an all-new half-circumnavigation of the Antarctic.

Africa and Middle East

In Africa and the Middle East, a new 11-day sailing in the Persian Gulf has new ports of call which includes Al Hasa, the largest oasis in the world.

Asia

In Asia, a new 8-day itinerary from Taiwan to Okinawa includes the tropical islands of Southern Japan.

South America

The South American itinerary includes the Falkand Islands and a course from Ushuaia around Cape Horn. In Central America, there are new itineraries from Belize City and one that includes six countries of South America.

Europe

In Europe, Ponant offers a 5-day Ocean Voyage that departs from Brest, France, and ends in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Additionally, an 11-day voyage From the Baltic Sea to the North Sea, departing from Copenhagen and ending in Oslo sails on the Le Champlain. The Arctic includes a 16-day voyage departing 20AUG-04SEP 2023 aboard Le Bellot, and sails between Iceland, Greenland and Canada, with stops in the French archipelago of Saint Pierre and Miquelon off the coast of Newfoundland.

Others

The 19-day ‘In the Ice of the Arctic’ voyage takes guests from Greenland to Svalbard between the territories of Greenland and the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard. Two new Mediterranean sailings, including family-friendly sailings for 11 days between the French Riviera and the capital of Malta, round out the new collection.
