Dubai Scraps Alcohol Tax on Tourists

Dubai has ended a 30 per cent tax on alcohol and will no longer charge tourists or expats for permits to buy alcoholic drinks in an effort to attract more visitors to the destination. CNN reports that the changes will be in place for one year as part of a trial period. Two major alcohol retailers in the city say they have cut their prices to reflect the change.
