World Health Organization (WHO) officials said on 10JAN that countries should consider recommending passengers wear masks on long-haul flights due to the rise of the latest COVID-19 Omicron subvariant.
As reported by the CBC, the XBB.1.5 subvariant has been detected in Europe and has rapidly spread in the U.S.
Passengers should be advised to wear masks in “high-risk settings” such as long-haul flights, said WHO.
