Open Jaw in Dubai: Over The Top On Top Of The World

Open Jaw's Karen Dahdah is exploring Dubai before embarking on an 8-day Costa Cruise of UAE, including Qatar and Oman. She began her journey on Air Canada's non-stop flight YYZ-DXB, and a little over 13 hours later, woke up in a city of pure opulence and futuristic scenes. Here are her first impressions - stay tuned for more!

Even if you let your imagination run wild, Dubai has already been there, done that and exceeded your fantasies. For instance, it boasts the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa which stands at 830 metres or 160 stories, and destroys Toronto CN Towers' measly 553 metres. As far as hotels go, there is luxury and then there's ultra-luxury - the Burj al Arab is touted as the world's only 7-star hotel, designed like the sails of a ship jutting out into the ocean. It's here, where 24 carat gold is not only for adorning the walls and ceilings, but the cappuccino too! If you're willing to pay approximately $35CAD for your morning hit of caffeine.

Stay tuned to Open Jaw - and visit our social networks -  for more tales of Karen's adventures on land and sea.
