Shamu's One Ocean is Randy Anger's latest fave

Randy Anger of SeaWorld
There’s something about California that makes me want to get in my car, crank up the Beach Boys, and head for the coast. Not likely to happen in the next 48 hours…but isn’t it nice when California comes to you?
A delegation from the Golden State did just that recently when they hosted an evening of nibblies and news at the uber-cool Dolce Social Ballroom in downtown T.O. On hand were reps from cities, hotels, and attractions to bring us up to date on what’s new in California.
SFO, always such a great tourist destination, is encouraging folks to linger longer with a brand new 49 Hours of San Francisco campaign. “We’ve asked local celebs and community leaders – like the director of our symphony orchestra, and Craig Newmark, founder of Craigslist - what they’d do with an extra hour in San Francisco,” explained Laurie Armstrong of San Francisco Travel. “And we’ve divided up their answers by outdoors, culture-vulture, bohemian and more.” Très cool! You can find out more at www.sanfrancisco.travel – check out Arts and Culture.
Also new is the Shamu’s One Ocean Show at SeaWorld in San Diego. Featuring the iconic killer whales interacting with trainers and even playing amidst giant fountains, it’s Canadian rep Randy Anger’s favourite – “Incredibly entertaining and moving – and educational all at the same time.”
Disney devotee Angela Saclamacis is agog over the newest attraction at Disneyland. The World of Color combines music and light with 1,200 fountains that dance, display and entertain: “I get goosebumps every time I see it!” (And as she visits the park monthly, that’s pretty often!)
And it may not be new but it’s still a surefire hit: The Old Town Trolley Tour in San Diego. Joe Timko of the CVB – who knows the town like the back of his hand – says that the hop-on-hop-off service, with 8 stops at the city’s best-loved attractions such as the Zoo and Coronado Island, is a great introduction to the city and one even he recommends to visiting friends.
But…I wonder if they play Beach Boys music?
