Goodbye Passport Stamps, Hello Biometrics: How to Speed up Customs

Customs processes around the world are getting faster as the result of new technology and programs like e-gates, electronic visas, FastTrack passes, pre-clearance sites and more. As reported by the Washington Posts, in many cases, the new technology uses biometrics such as facial or fingerprint recognition - signaling an end to customs forms, border control queues and interviews with officials.

This also means no more passport stamps, but the old-fashioned route is still available. To use the e-gates, pax should meet a short list of criteria, including carrying an e-passport and meeting a minimum age requirement.
