Bali Banning Tourists from Renting Motorbikes; Cracking Down on “Digital Nomads”

The haven for beach lovers and backpackers through Asia is cracking down on some types of tourism - including those working illegally in Bali.

CNN reports the governor of Bali has announced officials are targeting foreigners on the island “riding motorcycles without valid paperwork and helmets, driving recklessly, using fake Indonesian ID cards or abusing residence and work permits.”

Foreigners will no longer be permitted to rent motorbikes, and will be restricted to renting cars to get around.
