A new design for a flying taxi station in Dubai, known as a “Vertiport”, has been released by a major U.K. architecture firm, according to CNN. The hub would offer high-speed, zero-emissions air travel between locations in the city. It would be located next to DXB and connect with existing airport networks and other transportation hubs. The ruler of Dubai tweeted in FEB that air taxi operations will start in the city within three years.
Flying taxis are growing in popularity as a concept. Australia is also looking at developing its own network, and in 2022 a Chinese company successfully tested a flying car. As Open Jaw has reported, Paris is considering using flying taxis to move people during the 2024 Summer Games.
