More Young People are Choosing Cruise Vacations

Cruises are starting to appeal to Millennials and Generation Z, who, according to CBS News, see cruises as good value for their money. In response, cruise lines are taking note and are updating their offerings to capture the interests of younger travellers.

Nirmal Saverimuttu, president and chief experience officer for Virgin Voyages, told CBS that young consumers are the fastest growing segment of the cruise line’s customers. According to Saverimuttu, younger pax want to indulge and travel in a way that is more aligned with their modern preferences, which include luxury accommodations and "attention to detail" associated with high-end experiences but without the formalities, as well as a greater focus on “foodie tendencies” and dining.
