Turbulence is getting worse, and that trend is likely to continue due to climate change, reports USA Today.
According to recent research, severe turbulence is increasing by 149 per cent. While the precise impact of climate change on different types of turbulence remains unclear, experts agree that it is on the rise. This type of turbulence, occurring in cloudless skies, has become more frequent and intense due to the warming climate.
The seasonality of turbulence is also undergoing a shift. Currently, clear air turbulence is more common in the winter, but it's starting to happen more frequently in the warmer months.
