10 More Viking Ocean Ships by 2030, a Tad Bigger and Some for China

Viking announced plans to build 10 new ocean ships by 2030 and dedicate two river vessels to the Chinese market, reports Seatrade Cruise News

The new ocean ships will be slightly bigger, but will still carry under 1,000 passengers each to comply with new stability regulations. The expansion will result in a compound annual growth rate of 10.6 per cent for Viking’s ocean ships from 2023 to 2028, compared to the industry's 3 per cent.

Fourteen new river builds are also on order, with two European river vessels dedicated to the Chinese market as the country’s outbound travel market recovers post-COVID.
