A new concept for power wheelchair users that allows them to remain seated in their own devices while flying was unveiled at the Aircraft Cabin Interiors Expo, reports USA Today.
The design, created by Delta Flight Products and the PriestmanGoode design firm, aims to address the issue of damaged or mishandled mobility devices during air travel. The seat concept can be converted from a regular domestic first-class layout to a wheelchair anchor point, offering the same amenities as a standard seat. The wheelchair user can roll into place and be secured using a standard Q'Straint system.
