Europe’s ‘Crazy’ Tourism Summer Has Already Started. And It’s Going to Get Much Worse

Travellers are flocking to Europe in record numbers, leading to a surge in bookings and high demand for popular destinations, reports CNN Travel.

What’s especially surprising is how early in the season the crowds have arrived, it reports. High demand has resulted in increased prices for airfare and hotel accommodations. To cope with the record-breaking crowds and higher costs this summer, many Europe-bound travellers have been forced to adjust their plans.

As the surge of pax to Europe continues to rise, it remains to be seen whether the continent’s airports and airlines can avoid a repeat of last year’s travel chaos and disruptions.
