Sunquest Offers Enhancements On Jazz Air Operated Flights

Starting in November and running through the 2011 winter season, the majority of Sunquest’s flying program out of Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax will be aboard a fleet of Thomas Cook branded aircraft which will be operated by Jazz Air.*

More than 70 Thomas Cook Airlines Canada flights operate each week exclusively for Sunquest and the onboard product has been enhanced to include a wide range of services.

“We’ve conducted market research to find out what our customers rate as most important when they travel and overwhelmingly the feedback has come back in favour of more seat pitch and flights that operate on time,” said Steve Butchart, Vice President of Sunquest. “As far as seat pitch goes, we’ve invested the resources necessary to provide our customers with a 31-inch pitch throughout. This represents a 10% increase from flights previously operated on behalf of Sunquest.”

“To ensure we get them where they want to go on time, by partnering with Jazz to operate these aircraft, we’ve aligned ourselves with a company that has the highest on-time performance in the country and a stellar safety record. While that relates directly to scheduled and not charter carriers, you have to consider that they are able to achieve that record whilst flying into some of North America’s biggest and busiest hubs – New York, Philadelphia, Washington and the like.”

On board service includes a welcome mimosa, a hot meal with a complimentary glass of wine with lunch or dinner, complimentary kids’ activity book with crayons and even fresh warm cookies baked right on board (where flying time permits).

There will also be a limited number of PlayStation Portables (PSPs), pre-loaded with eight movies, two hours of TV and four games, available to rent for $10 per unit on a first-come, first-served basis.

There are also two new levels of service available – Silver and Gold. The Silver package – over $150 in value for just $49 per person – offers the following added value inclusions:

• Complimentary seat selection

• Priority check-in

• Priority baggage handling

• Up to 5kg in additional baggage allowance (25kg total)

• Priority boarding

• Guaranteed choice of meal for lunch and dinner

• Two additional complimentary alcoholic drink vouchers

• Complimentary headsets

• Complimentary comfort kit

• Free shipping on a minimum order of $75 (pre-tax) from the Sunquest e-boutique

The Gold package – over $300 in value from just $69 per person – provides customers a few additional enhancements:

• Up to 10kg in additional baggage allowance (30kg total)

• Exclusive Plaza Premium lounge access (Toronto only)

• Complimentary use of PlayStation Portables (PSPs)

• An exclusive Park‘N Fly discount

“Our new Silver package essentially offers what many other tour operators feature as their premium upgrade but at a much lower cost,” said Butchart. “Our Gold package, competitively priced against our competition’s premium product, takes the onboard experience to new heights offering over $300 in added value if you were to take each component and purchase them individually.”
