Boeing Forecasts USD $8 Trillion Global Demand for New Jets by 2042

Boeing has projected a global demand for 42,595 new commercial jets valued at $8 trillion by 2042, according to its 2023 Commercial Market Outlook (CMO), published in a press release by the company.

The CMO highlights other key findings, such as passenger traffic surpassing global economic growth, the global fleet nearly doubling to 48,600 jets, and airlines replacing half of their fleet with fuel-efficient models. Asia-Pacific markets, particularly in China, are expected to represent over 40 per cent of demand, with South Asia’s fleet expanding rapidly, led by India.

Low-cost carriers are predicted tol operate more than 40 per cent of the single-aisle fleet in 2042.
