Amid chaos and long wait times at airports, Canadian air carriers transported 27.6 per cent fewer passengers in 2022 compared to 2019, reports Business Intelligence for BC.
That was a significant rebound from mid-pandemic, with airlines transporting 162.3 per cent more passengers in 2022 than in 2021. Monthly passenger volumes jumped during the latter half of 2022, after the federal government started to loosen COVID-19 restrictions.
