Tourism Australia's Annual Corroboree Set For Hamilton Island
Open Jaw

Tourism Australia is gearing up for another sold out Corroboree event September 10th thru 14th on Queensland's Hamilton Island. Each year Tourism Australia invites qualified Aussie Specialist retail agents to attend Corroboree, an event that provides face-to-face training and product updates with Australia’s tourism operators.

This year, Aussie Specialist agents from the United States, Canada and Latin America will connect with more than 90 Australian tourism suppliers and industry partners partners including Qantas Airways, V Australia, each of Australia’s seven State Tourism Offices and key North American wholesale partners for market and product updates.

Situated on the edge of the Great Barrier Reef amongst the 74 Whitsunday Islands, Hamilton Island is ready to showcase its glorious weather, azure waters, numerous activities, fine foods and wines during There’s Nothing Like Corroboree 2010.

The Aussie Specialist Program was created by Tourism Australia in order to build and develop a network of retail agency specialists to sell Australian vacations. The program focuses on honing agents’ product knowledge combined with first-hand destination experiences.

“Corroboree is the largest event for our Aussie Specialists and each year we look forward to inspiring their innovation and igniting their passion for Australia,” says Daryl Hudson, Tourism Australia’s Regional General Manager, The Americas. “Our Aussie Specialists who have chosen to focus on selling Australian vacations know that the opportunity to travel to Australia and learn more about travel products is critical in building their ability to effectively sell more Australian vacations,” Mr Hudson added.

Both Qantas and V Australia have Corroboree airfares on offer to attending agents, with Qantas fares to Brisbane starting from $584 and V Australia offering fares to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane from $689. Corroboree registration fees start from $315 and include four nights accommodation (twin share). A number of pre and post famils across Australia are also available at an additional cost.
