Google-Sabre Deal Lets Travel Agents Check Carbon Emissions for Flights

Accessing carbon emissions data for flights will one day be standard fare across the travel industry, reports Skift.

Thanks to a partnership between Google and Sabre, travel advisors using Sabre’s desktop software can now access carbon emissions data when searching for flights. The data, obtained through Google's Travel Impact Model, allows advisors to identify the flights with the highest and lowest carbon emissions. Later this year, Sabre's booking tool, GetThere, will provide access to data for corporations as well.

While offline travel advisors received the data earlier this quarter, Sabre’s online agency clients will have to wait as integration through APIs is considered.
