Hotels Near Capacity, Ticket Sales Exceed 2019 Levels for this Year’s Calgary Stampede

The Calgary Stampede is projecting record-breaking hotel occupancy and robust attendance, reports CBC News.

Advanced bookings have surged, leading to expectations of occupancy rates surpassing the past 10 years and possibly even the past 20 years due to the addition of thousands of hotel rooms.

Last year’s Stampede began the event’s post-pandemic recovery, drawing 1.2 million people. Stampede officials are optimistic that this year’s event will at least match last year’s success.

Domestic travellers, particularly from Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta, are demonstrating strong interest in the high profile event.
