The European Travel Commission (ETC) reports a 10 per cent drop in travellers planning to visit the Mediterranean region between JUN and NOV compared to the previous year, when extreme heat caused droughts and wildfires. Cooler destinations, such as the Czech Republic, Denmark, Ireland, and Bulgaria have seen a rise in interest as alternatives.
