DR Low-Cost Carrier Arajet Expands to Second Canadian Destination

Arajet, a low-cost carrier based in the Dominican Republic, has announced the launch of its second route from Canada.

Starting on 07NOV, the airline will offer direct flights from Montreal Pierre Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to Santo Domingo (SDQ), operating four days a week.

One-way fares for this service start at $155 USD, including taxes.

Víctor Pacheco Méndez, CEO and founder of Arajet, said, "Arajet remains committed to the growth and expansion of our hub, especially now with Canada which is the second country of origin of tourists to the Dominican Republic, and with a diaspora of more than 50 thousand Dominicans who now have a national airline to visit their friends and family.

"The citizens of Montreal and Santo Domingo have for the first time an airline that offers direct flights at the best market price, which will generate greater benefits for both countries by strengthening commercial and cultural exchange, as well as tourism."

As Open Jaw reported, Arajet's recently announced its first route from Canada, with service from YYZ-SDQ, is set to commence operations on 24OCT.

Arajet is now operating direct flights to 20 destinations across 14 countries, and Canadians can connect to the carrier's Latin American network via its SDQ hub.

The Canadian expansion follows the FEB, 2023 signing of a Blue Skies agreement between Canada and the Dominican Republic that allows for more carries to fly more routes to both destinations, as Open Jaw reported.

Offers for the new YUL-SDQ route can be found on Arajet's website.
