Porter Partners to Develop New Terminal at Montreal's Saint-Hubert Airport

Porter Aviation Holdings has formed a partnership with Macquarie Asset Management to support the development of a passenger terminal at Montreal Saint-Hubert Airport (YHU).

The terminal will be created under a new joint ownership company and it will be managed locally upon completion, expected mid-2025.

Michael Deluce, President and CEO, Porter Aviation Holdings, said the project, “will result in a distinct terminal where passengers will genuinely enjoy their experience.”

The passenger terminal is designed to cover an area of 225,000 sq.ft. and will feature nine bridged aircraft gates with a modern design. It will offer lounge-style seating for passengers, along with food and beverage concessions and retail vendors.

“We are excited to expand our investment footprint in the Americas through partnering with Porter to deliver high-quality infrastructure to the Montréal region,” said Karl Kuchel, CEO of Macquarie Infrastructure Partners. “We look forward to working with key airport stakeholders including the local community to make this important project a success.”

The YHU terminal development takes inspiration from the successful revitalization of Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, in which Porter has been involved for the past 17 years. Porter will be a prominent tenant at the new YHU terminal, operating routes throughout Canada using De Havilland Dash 8-400 and Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. The terminal will also be open to other airlines.

The YHU terminal's development is expected to increase the airport capacity in the Greater Montréal Area and consolidate regional air service in Québec. In addition to their presence at YHU, Porter intends to continue expanding its operations at Montreal Trudeau Airport (YUL)
