Don't Look Now, But Your Back End Is Showing

The HST is upon us like a cloud of freshly hatched black flies. We see it, but we are helpless before it -- swatting the air like ham-fisted imbeciles. As though that’s going to stop them.

And I keep hearing it’s also creating some real issues for everyone around the back office. Now people. I really think everyone needs to get over this whole ‘back office’ thing. I know it’s great to go back there for time out, eh Pumpkins? Hide from the boss. Gossip. Neck with the delivery boy. Maybe take a pull from the mickey you keep behind the copy paper. I get it. I’ve been there.

But it’s really become an obsession. It’s all I hear about. Everyone’s complaining that all those blended HST tax geniculations don’t have any connection to the back of the office. In fact, half of the industry’s Law Day was spent going on the back office.

Let it go, people. I know it’s hard, but you have to think “front†of the office. You can’t hide from the front lines just because there’s some pesky little tax coming. Come out of the storage closet and keep selling! I know you know I’m right.

On another note -- Uruguay? Jazz has bought one third of a Uruguayan airline. You may well be wondering why that is. Well, they want to diversify from being a regional carrier in Canada and so, naturally, Uruguay came to mind. Might have been one of those back of the office decisions.
