On 07SEP, Interpid Travel announced a partnership with travel multimedia company Atlas Obscura to form Atlas Obscura Adventures, which will offer small-group tours.

According to the two companies, Atlas Obscura Adventures is intended to be a new iteration of Atlas Obscura’s trips division. The partnership will "dramatically expand" the number of Atlas Obscura trips being offered while also reducing the company’s operating costs.

Trips offered by Atlas Obscura and Intrepid Travel will typically be capped at 12 travellers per group, allowing for shared experiences and access to places that can’t be visited with larger groups. 2024 itineraries include an immersive, behind-the-scenes tour of the Scottish Highlands with bagpiper Ross Jennings; an exploration of Venice and Rome; a road trip through the backroads and bazaars of Central Asia; and an Egypt expedition that includes private after-hours access to the tombs of the Valley of the Kings.
