Michael Merrithew Named Chairman For Global Specialist Markets (GSM)

Michael Merrithew, Chairman & CEO, Merit Travel Group Inc., has been appointed Chairman for Global Specialist Markets (GSM), a partnership of independent travel management companies (TMCs) from over 35 key markets around the world.

Merit is the exclusive Canadian Partner in GSM, and has been since they co-founded the global network in 2006. Over the past three years, GSM has expanded while maintaining its operating philosophy and ownership structure, as well as its strict partnership criteria.

As Chairman for GSM, Merrithew will be responsible for staff oversight, leadership and guidance to the GSM Board of Directors, as well as ensuring that GSM continues to reach its short and long-term objectives for growth and development, while representing the needs and interest of all Partners.

In addition to co-founding the network in 2006, Merrithew has held Board positions as the GSM Regional Director for the Americas Region, and will continue to act as the GSM Director, Global Marketing.
