
Globus family of brands’ bookings for Portugal in 2023 were up 80% over 2022. Recognizing this trend, in 2024, Globus and Avalon are offering new tours, a new river ship and cruises.
According to the company, Portugal is the "grapest" new wine destination.

Avalon Waterways' new Avalon Alegria, specially-built for the Douro, debuts in MAR 2024. The Alegria will feature Panorama Suites on two full decks for a total of 102 guests, and a pool on the Sky Deck.

Avalon’s new cruise includes “Classic,” “Discovery,” and “Active” excursion choices. Featuring Amarante – in the Minho region, known for its golden church that dates back to 1530 – to the architecture in Salamanca, Spain; rock art to riding bikes from Porto to the sea, the company says guests on this cruise experience medieval castles, scenery, and the flavours of local wine, bread, olives and cheese.
