According to Recommend, UNESCO has inscribed 42 new sites to the World Heritage List during its 45th session in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The additions span five continents and include 33 cultural and nine natural sites. Highlights include Viking forts in Denmark from the era of King Harald Bluetooth; the ancient city of Jericho, a ninth-century settlement in Tunisia; a historic torture center in Argentina; and various temples, monuments, and cemeteries from France, India, and Thailand.
