After a four-year hiatus, MSC Meraviglia returns to Eastern Canada. The ship embarks on her fall season with an inaugural call to Saint John, NB, on 27SEP, and Open Jaw is on board, so stay tuned for updates from MSC Meraviglia's first call of the Eastern Canada fall season.
This will be followed by stops in Sydney, NS on 30SEP; Charlottetown, PEI on 01OCT; and concluding in Halifax, NS on 08OCT as it begins a series of autumn 10 and 11-night voyages to highlight Eastern Canada.
Additionally, MSC Meraviglia, with a capacity of over 5600 guests, will set sail in Eastern Canada during APR, MAY, and AUG 2024.
The cruise line, in a release, envisions significant economic benefits for local coastal communities. Recent research by the Halifax Port Authority shows that cruise ships contribute over CAD $225 million annually to Halifax and Sydney. Similarly, the Port of Saint John accounts for more than CAD $68 million a year. Charlottetown sees a CAD $42.4 million influx annually, according to its provincial Ministry of Economic Growth, Tourism and Culture.
Ian Patterson, Country Manager, MSC Cruises Canada, said, "The return of MSC Meraviglia to Eastern Canada after four years is a cause for celebration. Our guests will be able to enjoy experiencing the beauty and the tranquility found in the region and we believe the sailings will benefit the local economies of the ports and local destinations that the ship will visit."
