France Turns to Sniffer Dogs to Hunt for Possible Bedbugs on Trains, Subway Cars

France is deploying sniffer dogs on trains and the Paris Metro to detect potential bedbug infestations following several reports by travellers.

According to the CBC, concerns raised in the media about bedbugs, especially with the impending Paris Olympics, prompted action. The Deputy Mayor of Paris recently sought urgent governmental intervention on the matter. He assures heightened health procedures in public transport, plans for quarterly updates on bedbug reports, advocates transparency and will engage with pest control experts for further solutions.
