Opposition Pushing for Public Hearings on Federal Outsourcing After CBSA Allegations

Opposition MPs are demanding public hearings on federal outsourcing in light of allegations of misconduct related to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and RCMP, reports the Globe and Mail.

These concerns were heightened after inconsistencies emerged in former CBSA president John Ossowski's statements about meetings with GCStrategies.

Allegations have pointed towards improper relationships between public officials and private firms and concerns about irregular contracting. The misconduct allegations center around a project implementing Botler's software, which tracks back to a contract used for the ArriveCan app. Both Conservative and NDP MPs intend to broaden the scope of the ongoing ArriveCan study to include these new allegations.
