Air Canada Reports Slightly Lower September Load Factor
Open Jaw

For the month of September, Air Canada has reported a system load factor of 79.7% on a consolidated basis with Jazz (from which Air Canada purchases regional capacity), versus 79.9% in September 2008, a decrease of 0.2 percentage points. System traffic decreased 2.1 per cent on a capacity reduction of 2.0 per cent system wide.

"This result is in line with last year's record-setting load factor for the month and is attributable to our on-going disciplined approach to capacity management,"  said Calin Rovinescu, President and Chief Executive Officer. "I am particularly pleased to report a strong performance of 83.5% load factor for the third quarter, an increase of one percentage point from the previous year, despite the impact of the weak economy on the industry overall. I commend our employees who exceeded both Customer Satisfaction and On-Time Performance objectives for the month, achieving on-time arrivals performance of 88 per cent, a one percentage point improvement over the same month a year ago."
