Tropical Storm Otis Tracking Toward Mexico’s Pacific Coast

As of early 24OCT, Tropical Storm Otis is advancing north-northeastward in the eastern North Pacific, about 335 km south-southeast of Acapulco, Guerrero State, reports Crisis24.

According to the National Hurricane Center, predictions show it is intensifying into a Category 1 hurricane, targeting north of Acapulco for landfall by early 25OCT. It will likely diminish as it moves northwestward across western Guerrero.

Watches and warnings have been declared in several regions, with expected hurricane conditions, considerable rainfall, and potential coastal flooding. Risks include flash floods, landslides, transport disruptions, and heightened disease threats. Advisories include activating contingency plans, preparing essentials, and ensuring safety from flooding and diseases.
