Stephanie Anevich, Executive VP of Vision 2000 Travel Management

How long have you been in business? 36 years – I started in the family business. When I was 10 I learned to read the OAG!

How many people work with you? Over 400 across Canada.

What’s the best part of the job? The diversity – I get to do lots of things like working on Virgin Galactic space flights.

What did you want to be as a kid? A fashion designer.

What, apart from this job, was your favourite one? Working in the fabric department at Eaton’s.

Describe your dream vacation. I’m going to go into space whenever it happens, 2010 I think.

What do people not know about you? That I’m a homebody.

What will be the biggest challenge for the industry in the next 12 months?  Being able to keep staff motivated and sustain the business on increasingly thin margins.

Whom do you most respect in the industry? Vanessa Lee, because she’s managed to make it very much on her own and she has morphed into something different every time - and still be interesting and charming.

If you could sit next to anyone on a longhaul flight who would it be? Brian Robertson (her husband).

What drives you crazy? People who talk slowly.

What’s your worst habit? Procrastination!

What do you hope to be doing in 10 years? Golfing, reading, skiing, travelling around the world!
