"Revenge Travel" remains a dominant trend, according to Visa's 2023 U.S. edition of the "Visa Global Travel Intentions Study," reports Travel Agent Central.
Despite a 4.4% increase in travel costs, the surge in post-COVID travel shows no signs of slowing down. Visa's survey reveals that 73% of travellers acknowledge rising costs, yet only 6% plan to cancel or delay their travel plans.
International travellers, especially Gen Z, are taking an average of three international trips lasting over seven days, spending an average of USD $4,204 per trip. Notably, 60% of travellers are willing to pay more for flexibility in trip plans, and 76% opt for eco-friendly travel when competitively priced.
